Aura Yachts is a yacht design and manufacturing company inspired by a legacy that crossed oceans.

We do not define ourselves by geography. We define ourselves by a belief that great yachts should perform anywhere in the world, for owners who see sailing not as a destination-based activity, but as a way of life.

The first range of Aura Yachts reflects that philosophy in every detail.

For Leigh Rose, it began with her father, Ken Rose.

Ken was widely respected throughout the sailing industry, particularly during his years with Bruce Banks Sails. He earned a reputation as an innovative sail designer and was recognised for his role in the development of the asymmetrical spinnaker, a design that helped change modern performance sailing. To many, he was a pioneer. To me, he was simply Dad.

Looking back, I realise that what I admired most wasn’t just his technical knowledge. It was his belief that good design matters. That innovation matters. That if something is worth building, it should be built properly.

In the 1990s, Dad retired to New Zealand to pursue the lifestyle he had always dreamed about. Life eventually took us in different directions, and when I learned of his passing following surgery, it was a devastating loss. More than anything, I regretted not having the opportunity to say goodbye.

The Aura 42 began as a dream to build a beautiful yacht. Over time it became something more meaningful.

It became a tribute.

Not only to my father, but to the values he represented: craftsmanship, integrity, innovation and a lifelong passion for the sea.

Growing up around boats, sails and sailors, Leigh was immersed in a world where the sea was more than a pastime; it was a way of life. Family weekends were spent sailing the Solent and exploring the waters around the Hamble, experiences that instilled a lifelong appreciation for craftsmanship, seamanship and thoughtful design.

As she grew older, Leigh came to understand that her father's influence extended far beyond those childhood memories.

During his career with Bruce Banks Sails, Ken Rose became recognised as one of the innovative minds helping to shape a new era in sail design. He was known for embracing emerging technologies, challenging conventional thinking and pursuing better solutions long before they became industry standards.

Yet his greatest influence was not found in the sails he designed or the innovations he helped pioneer.

It was found in the values he lived by.

Curiosity. Craftsmanship. Integrity. The belief that there is always a better way to do something.

Those principles became part of Leigh's own outlook and would eventually inspire the creation of Aura Yachts.

Today, that legacy lives on through a new generation. Not by repeating the past, but by building upon it.

Aura Yachts was founded with a simple ambition: to create yachts that combine beauty, capability and practicality in equal measure. Yachts designed not only for today's owners, but for the generations who will follow them.

The Aura range represents the first expression of that vision.

Inspired by a lifetime on the water, influenced by a family heritage of innovation, and guided by a commitment to quality without compromise, Aura yachts are built to create lasting memories and enduring trust.

The Rose Legacy did not begin in one place and end in another. It moved across oceans, shaped by experience, opportunity and a lifelong connection to the sea.

Aura Yachts exists to continue that journey, building yachts without boundaries, for lives without limits.

Growing up around boats

Sailing and boating have shaped both of our lives from an early age, in different but parallel ways.

Leigh grew up sailing the Solent aboard a family Moody, learning seamanship in one of the most demanding and rewarding sailing environments in the UK.

Sarah’s experience came from motor boating along the South Coast aboard a Princess 37, where reliability, practicality, and comfort defined time on the water.

These early experiences created a shared understanding: boats are not simply vessels, but environments where skill, family life, and memory converge.

Over time, that shared perspective developed into a deeper interest in yacht design and how boats perform in real use, not just in specification.

Why we started Aura

Aura was created in response to a simple observation: most yachts still ask owners to compromise.

Comfort or capability. Performance or practicality. Interior space or offshore confidence.

Aura Yachts was founded to remove that trade-off.

Aura is the first expression of that philosophy. A yacht designed to combine seaworthiness, comfort, and usability from the outset, rather than layering them in afterwards.

Influences include builders such as Amel and Contessa; companies recognised not for trends, but for clarity of purpose and long-term ownership trust. Their yachts demonstrate that consistency and seaworthiness matter more than complexity.

Aura builds on those principles through modern design, systems integration, and a refined approach to onboard living.

Building for future generations

A yacht is not a short-term object. It is a long-term responsibility.

At Aura Yachts, every design decision considers not only the first owner, but the life that follows. How a yacht will age, how it will be maintained, how it will perform after years of use, and whether it can continue to be trusted across generations.

Durability, serviceability, and practicality are treated as fundamentals rather than features. Comfort is designed to endure, not diminish over time.

This long-term perspective reflects the standard set by established bluewater builders such as Amel, Contessa and Oyster, whose reputations have been built through decades of consistent ownership experience rather than short-term positioning.

Aura is designed within that same philosophy.

Each yacht is intended to remain capable, relevant, and dependable over time - supporting extended cruising lives and potentially multiple owners across its lifespan.

Borderless Marine

Borderless Marine is the brokerage for Aura Yachts, founded on the belief that a yacht should be more than a possession.

The best yachts become part of a family's story. They carry children on their first adventures, bring generations together around the same cockpit table, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Like the great family-led yacht builders that inspired us, we are focused on creating yachts that owners can trust for decades rather than seasons. We admire brands such as Amel and Contessa because they earned their reputations through consistency, thoughtful design and an unwavering understanding of what cruising sailors truly need.

Those same principles guide every decision we make.

Built from experience, shaped by heritage, and guided by a commitment to long-term trust, it represents the beginning of a design language intended to last.
